A remake of the 1974 horror movie Black Christmas. The movie tells the story about Billy, a young boy who was abused by his mother as a child. While his mother was cheating on Billy's father, she eventually killed his father and kept Billy in the attic - for good, while she was with her lover and starting a "new" family. As Billy's mother fell pregnant with a daughter and treated her with love, which Billy had never experienced with his mother, Billy came out of the attic after years and brutally murdered his mother and her lover. Cut to present day, a group of eight sorority sisters consisting of Kelli (Katie Cassidy), Dana (Lacey Chabert), Lauren (Crystal Lowe), Megan (Jessica Harmon), Claire (Leela Savasta), Heather (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Megan (Jessica Harmon) and Melissa (Michelle Trachtenberg) and their house mother (Andrea Martin),who now live in Billy's childhood home, find themselves being harassed by threatening and intimidating mystery phone-calls during Christmas Break and as one of the girls goes missing, the girls begin being murdered one by one by no other than Billy...

Quotable: Melissa
Heather: I'm really not okay with any of this. I mean, buying a Christmas present for a serial killer?Melissa: No. You see, serial killers murder repeatedly for sexual thrill. Billy Lenz was a spree killer - dude just f***ing lost it.
Melissa: Have you looked outside? It's raining hail the size of Yao's ball sack.
Melissa: I'm sorry, but that-that f***in' voice, that was not Megan or Kyle. That was the f***ing devil, and he was not talking to us, he was talking to Billy.
[phone begins ringing, and everyone goes silent and looks at each other]
Melissa: I got it.
[caller identification reads Megan Helms]
Melissa: Why is Megan calling here?
[answers the phone]
Melissa: Hey, where are you?
Billy: [again, in a muffled and maniacal voice] She's my family now. Everyone should be home for Christmas! I'll be home for Christmas, and I'm going to bury the hatchet in your head.
[Melissa quickly hangs up]
Melissa: That was not Megan...
Melissa: That sucks, everyone should be home for Christmas.
[Melissa is taking care of drunk Lauren, who is hugging the toilet]
Lauren: You know, you're a better sister to me than my own sister.
Melissa: Yeah, and Dick Cheney is a better sister to you than your sister.
Lauren: You know what I mean.
[Melissa begins shaking vomit off of her hand]
Melissa: Yeah, I know, eww, I love you too, but honey, you're really, really smelly. You need to take a shower, can you handle it?
Trivia
All the girls did their own stunts. In the UK version of the film, Melissa dies when Agnes bags her and takes out one of her eyes and eats it. She then drags Melissa down the hall while she is helplessly screaming. In the U.S. version, the back of her head is cut off.
Melissa's original death was Agnes ripping her eye out and dragging her down the hall by her eye socket as she screams helplessly. Glen Morgan decided to re shoot her death to being chased and having part of her head sliced off by an ice skate. The eye death became the UK Version death, while the ice skate death was the US Version death.
There were reshoots that changed the death of Melissa and the ending hospital scene.
