Quotable: Michelle

"You're immediately in silence and in awe of him," she said, also by phone from Los Angeles. "I'm just staring at William; he's off camera and he's just going on (in character). I'm just speechless and staring at William. It wasn't so much starstruck as it was talent-struck. He makes so much out of every moment. And he's so lovely and so giving as an actor."

"She's a very take-charge sort of girl," said Trachtenberg, who has appeared in episodes of TV's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Six Feet Under" as well as films "The Dive from Clausen's Pier" and "Harriet the Spy."

"She's extraordinary in the sense that she knows exactly the situation that she's in. She's very smart and sexy, and uses that to her advantage."

"I play the older son's lover. It's a couple of years in the life of these people and what happens, and how the older boy, the genius, goes to all of the math tournaments around Ohio. It's a beautiful story."

Trivia

Author Ethan Canin's original short story "Batorsag & Szerelem", which this movie is based on, originally took place in Iowa. When director Chad Lowe became interested in the project, and plans were made to film a movie based on the story, the action of "Batorsag & Szerelem" was moved to Shaker Heights, Ohio, which is a suburb of Cleveland.
