Presenters at L.A. Fashion Awards
Hosts Jon Kelley ("Extra TV") and Lauren Holly ("NCIS" on CBS) provided an
entertaining welcome to the 2006 LA FASHION AWARDS stage production which opened
with models lounging "backstage" on stage in Bed Head pajamas on the new Saturn
Sky Roadster. The Awards presentations were interspersed with video vignettes
providing refreshing back-story on all of the nominees and honorees, and runway
shows featuring capsules collections from the Fashion Innovator nominees Rozae
Nichols, Juan Carlos Obando, and Society for Rational Dress' Corinne Grassini.

In a surprise outcome, innovative celebrity retailer Kitson, nominated in TWO
categories, Marketing Excellence and Fashion Retail, was passed by vintage
specialist decades & decadestwo on the retail side and upstart COLLECTION bebe
on the marketing side.
SATURN is the presenting sponsor of the second annual Los Angeles Fashion
Awards. Moss Adams LLP, Wells Fargo Century, NASDAQ and FedEx lead the slate of
supporting sponsors, which includes Design Tonic, WGSN, Market Wire, FTC
Commercial Corporation, Traction Press, Clear Image Printing, Cloutier Agency,
Much and House PR, Evolutionary Media Group, Santee Village Lofts, LA Fashion
District BID, Directives West, Biotherm and Paul Mitchell. The Standard,

Awards are special friends of the event, with a creative cultural exchange

event.
Several fashion and business not-for-profit membership organizations, including
the California Fashion Association (CFA), Fashion Business Incorporated (FBI),
Fashion Group International of Los Angeles (FGI-LA), LA Economic Development
Corporation (LAEDC), Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce (LAACC) and the World
Trade Center Association (WTCA) endorse the event. Los Angeles magazine is the
presenting media partner. Surface magazine, California Apparel News, LA.com and
LA Weekly are among the media sponsors. Reception providers include Sauza
Tequila, Cruzan Rum, Plymouth Gin, Courvoisier Cognac and Starbucks Liqueur. A
California Wine Bar featured Wente Vineyards, Tamas Estates and Murrieta's Well
labels with custom wine glasses supplied by Bormioli Rocco Glass Co. Delicious
appetizers provided by Pane e Vino, Duxbury's, Tiara Café, Chocolate Box and
Sweet Cake. HINT Essence Water will provide refreshment. DJ Crash designed the
music, and video artist Jessica Snow created a custom film, "Window Shopping"
for the event.
