Hello, Helio
A breathtaking mansion in the Hollywood Hills above Sunset was the expensive
setting for the launch of Helio, the latest mobile service device (aka a phone
with lots of bells and whistles, including being an MP3 player and video
screen), so naturally Tinseltown's hottest 20- and 30-somethings had to make the
scene.
"That 70's Show" star Danny Masterson was the nominal host for the party, along
with Milla Jovovich and Chloe Sevigny. He's already a big fan of the Helio.
"It's got a lot of cool elements to it," he raved.
His co-star Laura Prepon agreed, along with a bevy of beautiful faces from
television ó "Nip/Tuck" beauty Rhona Mitra, "JAG's" Catherine Bell and "One Tree
Hill" star Sophia Bush, as well as film stars Sanaa Lathan, Michelle
Trachtenberg and Rachael Leigh Cook. Those glittering gals were matched by a
bunch of handsome men, including Simon Rex of "Scary Movie" fame, cutie Nick
Cannon, Isaiah Washington and Asian hottie Rick Yune.
With a broad vista of the L.A. basin twinkling below, guests sipped expensive
liquors, sampled pizza and sushi appetizers, and shouted out over the
alternative rock sounds of Ringside and the spinnings of the latest DJ in town,
Tendaji Lathan. We spotted Good Charlotte's Benji Madden and singer Bush, but
neither one made a move for the outdoor stage.
Everyone in the select crowd went home with a goodie bag containing that new
Helio Kickflip device, which was the real reason for making the trek to the
hills. Forget free food, booze and music ó this was one Hollywood party that was
all about the expensive swag.
