Celebs join Hilary Duff to promote Kohl's Candie's line
Young actresses Michelle Trachtenberg and Samaire Armstrong, along with
singer Ciara, will join teen superstar Hilary Duff in advertisements this spring
promoting the Candie's line of fashions sold at Kohl's Corp.'s stores
nationwide.
The celebrity boost comes after the Menomonee Falls-based retailer signed a new
advertising deal with Iconix Brand Group Inc., the owner of Candie's fashions
for teenage girls, Iconix said Thursday. Kohl's introduced the line at its
stores last year, with Duff featured in the ads.
Kohl's also will introduce Candie's new lines of homewear, swimwear and
sunglasses beginning in March.
The campaign will feature the celebrities in print, television, Internet and
in-store advertisements, Iconix said. The ads also will appear in March issues
of such magazines as InStyle, Cosmopolitan, Teen People, Teen Vogue and Us
Weekly.
Trachtenberg stars in the 2005 film "The Ice Princess" and has appeared in the
TV series "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," while Armstrong appears in the Fox series
"The O.C." and HBO's "Entourage." Ciara released her debut CD "Goodies" in 2004.
Iconix (NASDAQ: ICON - News) said this is the first time the Candie's line will
feature four celebrities in an advertising campaign. Past representatives have
included Destiny's Child, Kelly Clarkson and Jenny McCarthy. The company's other
brands include Bongo, Badgley, Mischka and Joe Boxer
