Trachtenberg's Dreaming of a 'Black Christmas'

Michelle Trachtenberg has reportedly signed on to appear in 2929 Productions and Dimension Films' remake of the slasher classic "Black Christmas."
"X-Files" and "Final Destination" veterans James Wong and Glen Morgan are producing the remake, with Morgan in place to direct.

The 1974 original was directed by "Baby Geniuses" auteur Bob Clark and was heavily financed by the Canadian government. It told the holiday-friendly tale of a serial killer terrorizing residents of a sorority house during Christmas vacation. The film starred Olivia Hussey, Keir Dullea and Margot Kidder and was one of the major inspirations for "Friday the 13th" and its legion of imitators.

Although Production Weekly is reporting a cast that includes Trachtenberg, Mary Elizabeth Winstead ("Final Destination 3"), Katie Cassidy ("When a Stranger Calls") and Oliver Hudson ("The Mountain"), the site offers no specific information on which coed roles will be matched with which actress.

Production is slated to begin at the end of the month in Vancouver.

Recent theatrical credits for Trachtenberg have included "EuroTrip," "Mysterious Skin" and "Ice Princess," as well as the telefilm "The Dive From Clausen's Pier."
