'Buffy's' Dawn Enters New Era in 'Eurotrip'
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Michelle Trachtenberg is putting away her
childish things and pulling out her adult bikini.
The actress, known for playing "Buffy the Vampire Slayer's" bratty little
sister Dawn, is ready to show that she's young, free and 18 in her latest
film "Eurotrip," directed by "Seinfeld" writer Jeff Schaffer.
"Eurotrip" centers on poor Scotty's (Scott Mechlowicz) travels across
Europe to find his German pen pal, who he believes is "the one." Along for
the wacky ride are Jenny (Trachtenberg) and Jamie (Travis Wester) -- "the
worst twins ever" -- and goofy, oversexed Cooper (Jacob Pitts).
Throughout their various escapades -- including a visit to a nude beach
and a brothel -- the pals encounter a veritable sea of European flesh, not
all of it firm, nubile or female. Trachtenberg adds to the skin quota by
sporting skimpy tops and a string bikini, although she's one of the few
women in the film who keeps her top on.
"As an actress, it's really important that if you're going to do nudity to
pick a project where it is creatively very important to the movie," she
explains to Zap2it.com. "In a teen comedy, nudity is for the gross-out
factor and the shock value, and that's not the kind of acting I'm
interested in."
So, sorry guys, but the only shot of the lass topless is from the back, in
a snippet during the end credits. (Don't discount the allure of dorsal
dishabille, however. Mischa Barton has made it into an art form on FOX's
"The O.C.")
Trachtenberg isn't ashamed of her physical attributes, though, and is
amused by how prominently her cleavage is displayed on the "Eurotrip"
poster, especially when she learned that her image was not enhanced in any
way.
"Maybe it was the way I was sitting that day," she muses, "or maybe I had
a lot of salt."
When she's not distracted by her own breasts, the rising star is keeping
herself busy with other projects. After "Eurotrip," she shot the
independent film "Mysterious Skin" opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt and a
music video for rock band Trapt. Currently, she's preparing for a
four-episode arc on HBO's mortuary drama "Six Feet Under" and taking
ice-skating lessons for the upcoming Disney feature "Ice Princess."
"Eurotrip" invades U.S. soil nationwide on Friday, Feb. 20.
