Calling All Skaters
The Vancouver Sun

With the Vancouver-shot hockey flick Miracle set to debut Feb. 6, local skaters have another chance to make it in the movies. But, this time, it's for the girls.

Casting director Dorothy Szymanska is staging an open call for female figure  skaters 12 to 17 who are at least at a junior intermediate level. It's for a Disney film called The Ice Palace.

There are a number of roles available, although we hear Michelle Trachtenberg (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) has scored the lead.

The casting call is at Second Avenue Studios (225 West 2nd Ave.) Wednesday (11 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Thursday (noon-3 p.m). Participants should bring a photo of and any skating tapes they may have.
