Trachtenberg skates into 'Princess'

Michelle Trachtenberg is prepping to put on a pair of ice skates after scoring the lead role in "Ice Princess" for the Walt Disney Co. Shooting is scheduled to start in late March or early April with Andrew Waller at the helm.

In addition to her role in the Disney comedy, Trachtenberg is in early negotiations for a four-episode arc on HBO's "Six Feet Under."

"Ice Princess," described as "Flashdance" meets "Bring It On," follows a brainy ugly duckling (Trachtenberg) who realizes her dream of becoming a champion figure skater with the help of physics, a disgraced coach, three snooty ice princesses, a chorus of stage parents and the hunky boy who drives the Zamboni ice resurfacing machine.

Bridget Johnson is producing the project. Hadley Davis penned the most recent draft of the screenplay. At the studio, the project is being overseen by Karen Glass and Kristin Burr.

Meanwhile, on the Emmy Award-winning Alan Ball series "Six Feet Under," Trachtenberg would play Celeste, a pop singer who is protected by Keith Charles, played by series regular Michael St. Patrick.

Trachtenberg is repped by ICM, Peg Donegan at Framework Entertainment and attorney Ira Schreck at Schreck, Rose and Dapello. The actress next stars in the Montecito Picture Co./DreamWorks comedy "Eurotrip," followed by the indie drama "Mysterious Skin" for director Gregg Araki. Her other credits include "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
