Out of This World: Of all the strange and supernatural events that take place on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the most bizarre may occur in this season's premiere. That's when 14-year-old Michelle Trachtenberg appears out of nowhere as Dawn, Buffy's little sister. She'll share Buffy's house, mom, last name and, apparently, friends. (The mysterious sib develops a puppy-love crush on Xander.)

Fresh Blood: The new vampire hunter on Angel is so good-looking you can't really blame his undead enemies for craving a bite. J. August Richards, who played homeless gang leader Charlie Gunn for three episodes last season, gets a full-time gig with Angel's crew this year. And with former Felicity babe Tangi Miller coming on as his love interest, Richards has a lot at, um, stake.
